WAPA Administrator, Colorado Energy Office Director to Keynote Rocky Mountain Energy Utility Exchange

ASPEN, CO — (Marketwired) — 08/08/13 — Western Area Power Administration Administrator Mark Gabriel and Colorado State Energy Office Director Jeff Ackermann will keynote the 7th Rocky Mountain Utility Efficiency Exchange on October 9-11 in Aspen, Colorado. Over 80 other presenters in general, breakout, poster, and informal sessions will explore case study best practices and lessons learned from those who develop, implement, and evaluate utility customer programs related to energy/water efficiency, renewable energy, demand response, and key account customer management. Mark Gabriel is responsible for managing the Western Area Power Administration, a non-profit federal agency which delivers power from 57 power plants. He is a well-known speaker and writer and his book, Visions for a Sustainable Energy Future, won the 2009 Indie Excellence Book Award for Environmental Writing. Jeff Ackermann became the Director of the Colorado Energy Office in April 2013. Before that, he led the research efforts at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, focusing on issues ranging from electric system planning to the effective use of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The Rocky Mountain Exchange is a networking and professional development forum for about 100 utility and government organization staff as well as trade allies who provide products and services to support utility customer programs. The Agenda Advisory Committee is comprised of volunteers from regional utilities and sponsor organizations who set the agenda format and reviewed over 50 responses to a Call for Presenters.
