Private lodging hype around AirBnB: STATTHOTEL.de expands offering in Germany

After the hype around the private lodging startup AirBnB in the U.S., the service STATTHOTEL.de is powering up: “We are actively looking for new landlords in the major German cities, because we want to expand further and keep our high-quality standards,” said owner Wiebke Rosin-Luigs. The portal currently provides furnished rooms, apartments and whole houses in all major German cities. Extensions to other European countries are planned.

Over 2,500 properties in Germany

The German entrepreneur rolled out the concept of private lodging 14 years ago without the support of investors or business angels like Ashton Kutcher and has created a database of over 2,500 furnished apartments. The coming months will be characterized by the expansion: There should be more landlords in order to offer more choices to travelers. “Our next target is the expansion towards the European countrys,” said Rosin-Luigs. “Therefore, we are always interested in new business.”

Advantage: Personal contact

Today STATTHOTEL.de operates its own call center for customers from all over the world in several languages to assist with choice and booking of the lodgings. “Those who have or would like to rent an apartment have to trust the service-platform and the only way you can really accomplish this, is through personal contact.” explains owner Rosin -Luigs her recipe for success with the platform.
