Palisades Federal Credit Union to Host 4th Annual “Rockland County Shred Day”

PEARL RIVER, NY — (Marketwired) — 08/08/13 — Palisades Federal Credit Union, the largest Rockland County based Credit Union, will host their annual “Rockland County Shred Day” on August 17th. The event is free to all residents and will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Credit Union–s Nanuet branch.

With such growing prevalence, it is vital to be consciously aware of the threat and take proactive measures such as shredding personal and confidential information to protect against identity theft. As Rockland County–s community Credit Union, we are committed to Rockland County and are proud to offer this service once again at no-cost to anyone who would like to participate.”

The , founders of this annual event, is inviting any individual who lives, works, worships or volunteers in Rockland County to participate in this year–s festivities by safely shredding documents that contain personal identifying information such as, social security numbers, account information, addresses, and telephone numbers.

Rockland County Shred It Day — Free Document Shredding

Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

To help community members protect themselves against identity theft by shredding papers containing confidential information.

Free for all personal documents — Non-Member Businesses may only shred up to 10lbs

The Shred trucks will be in front of the Credit Union–s Nanuet branch during the event. Individuals who participate will watch their documents being shredded and have a chance to win a $50 American Express Gift Card. Anyone who opens a paper-less checking account with direct deposit during the event will get an additional $100 bonus deposited into their new account.
