Legacy Chiller Systems, Inc. announces pre-orders of its AuraCool Economizer Technology for process chillers to U.S. and Canada markets. “Riding on the success of our Integrated Chiller Economizer system introduced in 2007, AuraCool makes it possible to retrofit patented energy saving technology on any process chiller system,” says Martin King, Senior Fluid Systems Designer, Legacy Chiller Systems, Inc.
The new “Cross-State Air Pollution Rule” was recently activated by the EPA requiring U.S. power producers to reduce toxic emission in all the states east of the Rockies except the Dakotas, Delaware and the six New England. Power producers contend that new regulation of the industry without Government funding for research into new clean production technologies will lead to increases in power rates of up to 20 percent.
Legacy–s AuraCool Economizer Technology uses outdoor air rather than running the traditional, high amp draw, mechanical cooling systems. According to King, the concept of Economizers is really nothing new. “In simple terms, we took readily available equipment and dramatically enhanced efficiency performance using a patented sequence of operation that has been developed over years of case study research and field deployments. In 2007, we introduced this technology on a limited number of our production chillers. With AuraCool, we can now make this technology available to a much broader market creating opportunities for businesses to reduce KWH as much as 60 percent. Legacy customers can now retrofit their existing chillers with energy saving technology with limited downtime,” says King.
