ADDISON, TX — (Marketwire) — 03/14/12 — As St. Patrick–s Day quickly approaches, is preparing for the city–s largest annual celebration and what is expected to be the largest St. Patrick–s Day celebration in the United States. Savannah, Georgia will attract an estimated 1,000,000 visitors and local celebrators this coming weekend. This event has been compared in the past to a Mardi Gras celebration and is extremely popular with the local residents of Savannah as well as visitors from outside the state.
has been named the “Official Cleaning Company” of the St. Patrick–s Day celebration. Their role will be to continuously monitor and provide and support throughout each day and night of the festival. Jani-King franchisees and their crews will work from 8 a.m. on Friday through the following morning on Sunday. Their final maintenance is scheduled for 3 a.m. Sunday morning which will include a complete sweep of the ever-popular River Street, the main area where the festivities are held.

Savannah, Georgia has a long history in celebrating St. Patrick–s Day. It was first celebrated in 1813, when a local group performed a private gathering. The popular St. Patrick–s Day parade and Irish themed events now attract visitors from all over the country and world! The majority of the visitors visit Savannah for the entire St. Patrick–s Day weekend and some even stay a few days before or after so they can participate in as many celebrations as possible.
In addition to the St. Patrick–s Day parade, some of the other events that are planned for the celebration include the annual Greening of the Fountain in Forsyth Park, the Tara Feis Irish Celebration, the River Street and City Market celebrations, and many more. St. Patrick–s Day will fall on this upcoming Saturday, March 17th and the festival begins Friday, March 16, 2012.
