Itera International Energy Company Calls for Renewed Efforts in Wildlife Conservation

MOSCOW — (Marketwire) — 06/06/12 — Wildlife conservation — and particularly, the salvation of exotic or near-extinct animals — is a cause that comes with little controversy. From those who are zealous environmentalists to those who simply appreciate the natural beauty of majestic wildlife, helping needy animals is something that many people, and even corporations, rally behind. A new CNN finds that there may be some deep flaws in the wildlife conservation movement, however. According to the study, animals that are considered to be “beautiful” are far more likely to receive support than those animals that are seen as ugly. Despite these findings, the wildlife conservation movement maintains strong support — including corporate support from organizations like Group of Companies.

Though Itera is best known for its oil, gas, and real estate endeavors, both in the United States and in Russia, the company also has a reputation for its devotion to protecting wild animals. The company was previously involved in a campaign to rescue a near-extinct species of crane, a campaign they dubbed Flight of Hope.

Now, the company has issued a statement in response to the new CNN study, offering their continued support of the wildlife conservation movement.

All-round and active support to Salvation of Cranes Project is currently underway. In particular, round-the-clock live broadcasting from cranes– nests commenced in April at the site of the Argumenty I fakty (Arguments and Facts), the largest Russian weekly. This Project was named Flight of Hope.LIVE: . It deserved support of George Archibald, Head of the International Crane Foundation.

According to the press statement, Itera International Group of Companies continues in the belief that rescuing endangered wildlife is a noble calling for any individual or corporate citizen to take on. “This has been our pleasure for many years to support such an important environmental project. And this year is not an exception. In addition to financial participation, we intend to strengthen information support: the issue of endangered animals must be spoken of,” says Itera President Igor Makarov.

The statement from Itera International Group of Companies highlights their involvement with the conservation movement. Meanwhile, conservation societies and “green” activist groups across the globe can provide information to those interested in joining the cause to save and protect wild animals.
