Groom Energy to Host Two-Day Enterprise Smart Grid and ISO 50001 Conference

SALEM, MA — (Marketwire) — 09/21/11 — Groom Energy today announced the agendas and presenters for its Enterprise Smart Grid and ISO 50001 conferences to be held the afternoon of Nov 1, 2011 and all-day Nov 2, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Logan Airport, Boston, Mass.

Groom Energy–s research estimates the Enterprise Smart Grid market is $5.2B and growing by 40 percent per year. The Enterprise Smart Grid is the application of energy submetering, software and management controls for reducing energy consumption. Groom has also determined that the newly introduced ISO 50001 energy management standard has the potential to define energy management practices for large corporations.

To address the market and these important standards, Groom is bringing together energy, facility, sustainability and utility managers to discuss these latest trends. The events will feature case study presentations from organizations such as Genzyme, Harvard University, Millipore and Staples.

The Nov. 1st half-day ISO 50001 event will provide an overview of the recently introduced ISO standard and the Department of Energy–s Superior Energy Performance (SEP) certification program. Presentations will be led by DEKRA, the only SEP certification body, and the certifier for all five current SEP certificates. The group will cover best practices learned by helping Alcoa, Dow Chemical, Freescale Semiconductors, Owens Corning, Cook Composite Polymers, and others to become SEP certified.

The Nov. 2nd full-day Enterprise Smart Grid event will feature presentations and panel sessions with corporate energy managers describing ways in which their organizations use submetering for usage visibility and energy management systems to control and optimize their energy consumption.
