Going, Going… Gone! Elephants, Rhinos and Lions

TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwired) — 10/02/14 — Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this press release.

Torontonians are joining people in 132cities asking us all to shun ivory, rhino horn and lion bones as commodities. Set to be the largest demonstration of its kind, the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos will raise awareness, ask every government to destroy their stockpiles of illegal wildlife products, and to reinforce zero tolerance for illegal trading.

Giving their full support and addressing the crowds at this global event is director and film producer Sangita Iyer, along with acclaimed International hip-hop star, peace activist and former child soldier, Emmanuel Jal, the Chairman of Big Life Foundation Canada, Greg Gubitz, and Animal Rights Lawyer and Green Party Candidate Camille Labchuk.

“Greed and Selfishness are destroying our precious wildlife, and ironically the same blood money is being used to fuel terrorism, posing security threats for humans around the world. Clearly, what we are doing to the earth and to wildlife is returning to haunt us. We deny this harsh reality to our peril.” says Iyer.

The world is rapidly losing elephants, rhino and lions towards extinction. There must be action now, because there is no “later” for the elephants, rhinos and lions. March organizers urge: Engage your government to make wildlife crime a priority before it–s too late; Stay informed and inform others; Be an active part of the solution.

Join the march at Trinity Square, at 2pm, 4th October in Toronto.
