First Utility Ranked 20th in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for 2012

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwire) — 12/12/12 — , the UK–s largest independent energy supplier, has been listed 20th place in this year–s coveted Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table.

The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain–s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest three years. First Utility features for the second year running and secured the ranking based on annual sales growth of 112%.

They are mindful that this accolade would not have been possible without the tremendous interest and take up from its customers. At a time of continued economic uncertainty, First Utility is steadfast in its goal of empowering its customers to gain greater control of their and electricity consumption. By providing a great price point combined with the innovative use of new technologies, it is expected that First Utility will continue to grow and be an attractive energy supply alternative for the UK consumer.

Commenting on the league ranking, Ian McCaig, CEO of First Utility, said:

“We–re delighted to have been recognised for the second year by the Fast Track 100. We have seen tremendous growth over the last year which we put down to our commitment to offer our customers the best deals on the market. Times are tough for consumers, with rising fuel costs hitting pockets hard. We offer a compelling alternative, with lower prices and innovation which gives consumers the control they need to help lower their energy consumption.”

Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, which has been the title sponsor of the league table for all 16 years, commented:

“The tough economic conditions of the last few years have continued throughout 2012. Despite the positive feelings and boost provided by the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, the UK–s recovery has been slow and uneven this year. Against this backdrop, the Fast Track 100 companies have performed especially well, growing strongly and creating all important jobs.”
