eni Utilizes Leading-Edge Technology From Artificial Lift Company at Nikaitchuq

HOUSTON, TX — (Marketwire) — 10/24/11 — Artificial Lift Company (ALC) announced today the successful installation of the longest rigless electrical submersible pump (ESP) string run ever installed with an ALC system.

The completion was landed at 11,500 feet of measured depth (MD) and 3,500 feet total vertical depth (TVD) for on their Nikaitchuq oil field in Alaska. Nikaitchuq is the first Arctic project for with recoverable reserves estimated at 220 million barrels of oil.

ALC installed a two-motor rigless ESP system on the Nikaitchuq project using ALC–s proprietary permanent magnet motors and proprietary wet mate electrical connectors. This will allow the operator to replace the entire ESP string out on slickline or coil tubing, cutting costs significantly.

ALC–s greatest challenge for this project was the quick turnaround required by the client. The contract was awarded to ALC and the work commenced in just five weeks, requiring a mobilization from various international locations to meet the deadline.

ALC worked diligently to prepare for –s first global installation. expects to realize a significant cost savings using the ALC fully through-tubing retrievable ESP system when compared to conventional systems. Cost benefits of the system will be realized when workovers can be done with coiled tubing versus a full rig workover.

“Following the exploration and drilling era, the oil and gas industry is increasing its efforts in the area of production and recovery,” said Alex Kosmala, CEO of ALC. “ALC–s rigless ESP and Assured Lifting Service forgoes the need for a rig for workovers, thus saving companies millions of dollars in deferred production waiting for a rig and rig costs.”

“As ALC grows in Alaska and internationally, we are offering additional lift products and services that make us a first choice supplier and we are able to complete even more challenging and complex installations,” Kosmala said.

The benefits of using the ALC ESP system include: avoiding rig costs and deferred production while waiting for a rig, allowing live well deployment/retrieval (lubricator), live well intervention and slickline or coiled tubing for deviated wells. For a complete list of benefits, please visit: .
