PRINCETON, NJ — (Marketwire) — 09/27/11 — Dynamic Air Quality Solutions, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-performance indoor air quality products, has provided its V8 Air Cleaning System to 947 Fort Street, a Class –A– office tower located in Victoria, British Columbia, to help the building improve indoor air quality and become the first LEED Gold certified building on Fort Street. Popular among engineers in British Columbia for many years, Dynamic–s V8 system exceeds the MERV 13 minimum LEED requirement and was selected for its proven active-field technology, reliability and performance.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, we spend more than 90 percent of our time indoors. Studies show that cleaner air in office buildings can improve productivity and reduce absenteeism. In addition to improving indoor air quality, Dynamic–s V8 system features a low air pressure drop relative to 80 percent of greater passive mechanical filters. This reduces required fan energy and lowers energy consumption, which helps 947 Fort Street to secure LEED points. Dynamic–s system also features a very high dust holding capacity that extends filter replacement schedules from months to years. Extended maintenance intervals have a significant impact on operating costs.
Design work for this project was completed by Genivar, (formerly HWT Consultants) and Cairnview Mechanical Ltd. was the installing and commissioning mechanical contractor for the building. “Cairnview Mechanical has done many building air filtration systems over the years, and Dynamic has proven itself to be one of the finest systems on the market,” said Terry Siklenka, General Manager of Cairnview Mechanical. “The tenants in the building expected the highest quality of air and Dynamic proved itself the best both in product and support. As Cairnview completes our first year of warranty, we have had no issues with the product and the building clients are completely satisfied with the superior air quality Dynamic is delivering.”
“In the past, buildings like 947 Fort Street would have to choose between air quality and operating costs. Now they don–t,” said Duke Wiser, president of Dynamic Air Quality Solutions. “Our air cleaners slash energy, maintenance, operating costs and disposal, and we are proud to help this landmark building in the beautiful city of Victoria work toward achieving LEED Gold certification.”
947 Fort Street features an eclectic mix of retailers, restaurants and professional offices. Constructed as a LEED Gold certified office building, it incorporated indoor atmospheric quality management plans and programs into the project design to increase indoor atmospheric quality during occupancy.
The U.S. Green Building Council–s LEED Green Building Rating System is the benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. It gives building owners the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on the environment and their buildings– performance.
Dynamic Air Quality Solutions manufactures and distributes high-performance indoor air quality products including polarized media air cleaners, UV-C germicidal systems, and condensate pan treatments for residential and commercial applications. The company–s products are used in applications that range from hospitals and schools to restaurants and casinos.
