CleanTech OC Hosts Second Cleantech Company of the Year Competition

IRVINE, CA — (Marketwire) — 07/19/11 — CleanTech OC (), a collaborative, multi-disciplinary trade association promoting economic growth in Orange County–s clean technology industry, is hosting its second Cleantech Company of the Year competition. The Award will be presented at the CleanTech OC 2011 Conference and Expo, to be held Monday, September 12 at the Irvine Hyatt Regency. Last year, the Award went to Quantum Technologies of Irvine.

With the county–s cleantech industry witnessing significant growth in the past year, the Award is a coveted distinction that recognizes a local company that is developing an exceptional technology and creating jobs and economic growth in the region. This year, companies and interested parties have until August 1 to submit their nominations, which will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges.

“The Cleantech Company of the Year Award is a great opportunity for local companies, because five finalists will be invited to participate on a panel discussion at our CleanTech OC 2011 Conference and Expo, offering them significant visibility before potential investors, clients, and partners. Of those five finalists, one will be awarded with the Company of the Year distinction, and recognized on-stage,” said Greg Trimarche, Chairman of CleanTech OC. The winner will also receive a complimentary sponsorship of the association, affording them greater opportunities to become involved with CleanTech OC and others in the industry.

Companies interested in nominating themselves or others are encouraged to do so before the August 1 deadline. The nomination form is available on CleanTech OC–s website in the “2011 Conference & Expo” section, at . The nomination process is free, and open to all eligible companies.

CleanTech OC was founded to establish Orange County–s reputation as a center of cleantech innovation, investment, and research; create synergy between Orange County–s existing cleantech stakeholders; and promote local job creation and environmental improvement. As one of the most desirable places in the nation to live, start a business, and grow a family, Orange County is ideally positioned to be front and center in the cleantech revolution. More than 250 cleantech firms have already opened their doors within the county.
