Bosch Home Appliances Dispel Dishwashing Misperceptions

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — (Marketwire) — 08/16/11 — If you think washing dishes by hand saves more water than running a , you are not alone. A new national survey fielded by Impulse Research on behalf of found that almost half of Americans think washing dishes by hand saves more water than using a dishwasher. Yet, dishwashers save up to 85 percent more water when compared to hand washing.

“We were shocked to learn that Americans think washing dishes by hand saves water. The survey was conducted online with a random sample of 1056 men and women 25+, who own dishwashers — all members of the Impulse Research proprietary online panel. The Impulse Research proprietary online panel has been carefully selected to closely match US population demographics and the respondents are representative of American men and women 18+. Research was conducted in June 2011.
