Panama–s Energy Firms Plan 720 Megawatts of Hydroelectric Power, an Industrial Info News Alert

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA — (Marketwire) — 04/23/12 — Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina) — Panama plans to increase installed capacity of generation by 720 megawatts (MW) with 30 new hydropower plants. Seventeen of these projects are in a preliminary phase and seven are in an engineering phase, for a total investment of approximately $200 million. The remainder of the projects are under construction for a total investment of about $583 million. According to the program, these power stations are planned to be completed by 2016.
