NaturEner, a leading renewable energy producer, was pleased to host Montana Governor Steve Bullock yesterday at its San Francisco corporate offices. NaturEner owns and operates three wind energy projects located in Glacier and Toole counties in Montana that total 399 megawatts (MW), which is enough to power over 125,000 Montana homes.

Governor Bullock toured NaturEner–s 24/7 real-time Operations Center and was briefed on NaturEner–s plans for future development in Montana. The Governor also received an update on the launch of industry-leading wildlife conservation measures at the Rim Rock project to significantly reduce the already low risk of potential harm to eagles and other birds. These measures include the installation of innovative radar detection systems for eagles, and the positioning of trained avian biologists at different locations with the ability to immediately pause wind turbine operations, in coordination with NaturEner–s Operations Center.

NaturEner–s commitment to protecting Montana–s wildlife habitats is an important aspect of the Company–s goal to work with local governments, communities, landowners and other stakeholders to harness sustainable energy resources and provide positive social, environmental and economic benefits. NaturEner is a significant contributor to the local and Montana economy as a result of investing over $875 million in the state. With a total installed generation capacity of 399 MW, NaturEner owns and operates approximately 62 percent of the existing wind power fleet in the state of Montana.

“We are pleased with our partnership and professional relationship with the State of Montana and are very happy that Governor Bullock was able to take time from his busy schedule to visit our San Francisco offices. While our headquarters are in San Francisco, our heart is firmly planted in Montana soil and we are proud that we have been able to bring jobs and tax revenues to Montana communities, along with supporting the state–s commitment to be a leader in wind energy development,” said Chris Hodge, NaturEner Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations.

“Montana–s great wind resource is creating good-paying jobs across our state and supporting rural communities,” said Governor Bullock. “This meeting allows me the opportunity to couple my firsthand experiences at the Glacier and Rim Rock Wind Farms with a better understanding of how renewable energy is powering the American West and helping to expand Montana–s economy.”
