Haiti Government Publicizes Its Cooperation and Support for ECCO2 Haiti Program

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI — (Marketwired) — 11/20/13 — The for the Republic of Haiti publicized its cooperation and support to Agence Haitien de Developpement Social, Educatif et Environnementale (AHDSEE), an NGO member to for the memorandum of understanding to establish the , which shall further program development and financial aid in Haiti for education, job creation, climate change, and export trade of agricultural goods.

Despite ECCO2 Haiti Program operations getting off to a slow start, almost a year later the memorandum of understanding was amended and had been approved by the Haiti Ministry of Planification, which was signed by Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and AHDSEE.

Mr. Stafford Michel, Operations Director at AHDSEE comments, “Our Agency is pleased to announce its participation with the progress of this incredible program to bring advancements to the Haitian society; in particular the national reconstruction, bringing education to every child in Haiti and bringing awareness to the climate change issues so that environmental developments will allow for a better quality of life for all Haitians. Our Agency with the partners at ECCO2 will create job opportunities and migration to Haitians through various solutions for sustainable social and economic development. This will include providing assistance to supply chains of textiles and agricultural goods, which are a major part of the nation–s gross domestic product that will be exported through global partnerships in Free Trading Posts.”

The ECCO2 Haiti Program with provide loan guarantees and grants from private sponsors of the Global Banking Community and ECCO2 Global Partners to support local private sectors and NGOs to create job opportunities and migration for Haitian workers through various solutions for sustainable social and economic development in Haiti. This will include providing assistance to supply chains of textiles and agricultural goods, which are a major part of the nation–s gross domestic product that will be exported through the global partnerships in Free Trading Zones (also known as an ), such as the recent partnership between and . ECCO2 Haiti will also bring awareness to climate change and education for a better quality of life for the Haitian–s contribution to of the .
