The studies, which are available to the public, show significant savings at the Jaco branch office of Banco Nacional de Costa Rica and a large network and data center located in Las Vegas, NV. According to the studies, when the Cool-n-Save system was activated, the HVAC system in Costa Rica reduced energy consumption by 27.95%; in Las Vegas, the result was 26.2%.
“Outdoor heat is a problem for most air conditioning systems,” says Darius Jakubik, Greenway–s senior vice president. “The more heat there is, the less efficiently AC systems work and the more energy they use. Cool-n-Save–s job is to reduce the temperature of outdoor air as it is being blown through the condensing coils.”

The costs savings for the site in Las Vegas, where the operational demand of a data center is much higher, the annual cost savings is about $80,000. “And in both cases,” adds Jakubik, “the return on investment from installation and maintenance for one year, is less than 12 months.”
