CARROLLTON, TX — (Marketwired) — 04/15/13 — A#1 Air, a regional leader in providing air conditioning and heating services, has partnered with “The Broadcast” program on KTXD-TV, a Dallas-Fort Worth television station, to host a monthly series that highlights local volunteers and organizations that are making a difference in the community. The program known as the Volunteer Spotlight features A#1 Air co-owners James and Sherry Green each Monday.
The Volunteer Spotlight will focus on a different theme each month. This month, the series focuses on autism and the volunteers and organizations that support awareness and research about the disorder. Autism spectrum disorders affect 1 in 88 children, according to the National Autism Association. Autism is also the fastest growing serious developmental disorder in the U.S., according to Autism Speaks, a leading autism science and advocacy organization.
“The focus on autism awareness is important to us because we have an 11-year-old son who has Asperger–s Syndrome,” said James and Sherry Green. “Through the Volunteer Spotlight focus on autism, we want to shine a light on the volunteers and organizations whose efforts are leading to more education about the disorder as well as raising funds toward research and resources that can help others.”
